Job Title:          CNC Operator
Department:     CNC
Reports To:      CNC Department Manager/Lead Operator
FLSA Status:    Non-Exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operates conventional and CNC machines, lathes and mills.

Inspects parts in process and monitors machine operation reporting any needed repairs.

May set up machines and monitor first part trial run.

May work toward editing programs and doing part-programming.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability.

EDUCATION

Technical college background preferred, but not required

Knowledge of Quality Management Systems

EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of machine feeds and speeds preferred

Prior experience in CNC machining preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Must be able to stand for a minimum of ten to 13 (10-13) hours per shift

Must have dexterous use of both hands

OTHER SKILLS

Must understand instructions

Must perform mathematic operations quickly and accurately

Must be able to read measuring equipment (i.e., micrometers, calipers, etc.)

Maintain a working environment in dept consistent with company policies
